Description

What it is The Short Stepper is a drop-in forced-reset assembly for AR-15 platforms. It mechanically forces the trigger to reset after each shot when properly assembled and tuned. This is a drop-in device that requires assembly and per-build lever tuning — it is not a trigger or a device to change trigger pull weight. What’s included Short Stepper housing — 316 stainless steel Short Stepper Ar-15 lever — 316 stainless steel Short Stepper Ar-9 lever- Ar500 steel Short Stepper timing gear — 316 stainless steel Limiter spring (can be cut, to fit your build) 5 mm retention pin Fitment & compatibility Designed to install on top of OEM safety selectors. Compatible with our TURD, FART, or KABUTO three-position safety selectors for three-position operation. Works with most AR-15 lowers; however, dimensional variance between lowers/parts means tuning is required for correct timing and reliable function. Assembly & tuning (important) Ships as an assembly kit that must be assembled and the lever tuned per build to achieve proper reset timing. Basic mechanical skill and proper tools are required. If you’re unsure, have a competent gunsmith install and tune the unit. Safety & legal notice This device alters firearm function. Install, test, and use with extreme caution. We are not responsible for damage, injury, or death resulting from installation, testing, or use. Always follow all federal, state, and local laws. Do not use where prohibited. Always perform function checks with unloaded magazines and cleared chambers; follow safe gunsmithing and handling practices. Returns & restocks (Last picture shows an assembled model) No refunds on products that have been installed or modified. Uninstalled returns accepted subject to a 15% restock fee.

Ordered one of these units for the sake of science. First discovery? Product description is incredibly accurate, these parts were raw as a fresh elk heart. After about 20 minutes with a round hand file everything fit together nicely, and a function check showed that they work as intended but with a little grit. I’m sure with a little wire wheel time and some fine tuning on the trigger fitment (using mil spec trigger group other than the 3 position safety) it will feel like it was always meant to be there.

Ordered one of these little guys on the first drop. With some minimal sanding and polishing on the areas he recommended. she was up and running have it in a 80% I built no issues so far!
